I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to promote the upcoming bout.
Former two time unified title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami venue on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually known for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's largest financial successes, regularly earning huge financial rewards.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters engaged in the customary face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
